How to Get Your Cheapest Cell Phone Service Plan and Providers

June 22nd, 2008 by janetneusy

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Daymon_Hoag]Daymon Hoag Shopping for a good cell phone service plan is not the same as shopping for garbage bags where more often than not, cheaper is better. Even with garbage bags you get what you pay for. Finding the best cellular provider for your personal needs is a bit more complicated, but doesn’t have to be painful or mind boggling. We are all naturally inclined to search for the cheapest cell phone service the same way we might scan over flyers in the Sunday paper looking for those cheap prices and special offers. If this is how you are shopping for cell phone carriers, you are not going to be a very happy camper once you start getting your bill. There are two major factors you absolutely must consider before you purchase a cell phone plan. Usage, and plan types. By understanding your calling habits, and the difference in cell phone calling plans, you’ve already won half the battle in lowering your cell phone bill or keeping you cellular bill low before you even purchase a plan. A common misconception is that cell phone service can be grouped into two plan types. Prepaid and monthly. While this is somewhat true, prepaid itself can also be broken down into two separate categories. Monthly prepaid, and pay as you go. Before considering your usage you’ll want to make sure you understand the plans. Pay as you go cell phone service is a type of prepaid cellular plan that allows you to use the cell phone service very much the same way you might use a prepaid phone card by purchasing your minutes in advance. A pay as you go cell phone plan is best for people who just want the cell phone for emergencies, or will rarely use the cell phone. Monthly prepaid cell phone plans are much more convenient than pay as you go, since many prepaid providers offer extras similar to monthly cell phone plans such as mobile-to-mobile minutes or nights and weekends as free calling time. Since it’s prepaid, you can’t go over your minutes, so these plans are perfect if you’ll need to make calls frequently but are on a budget. Monthly cell phone plans probably don’t require a whole lot of explanation; However, if you want the cheapest monthly cell phone service you may still want to think about who in your family is using pay as you go, or monthly prepaid by that same cellular provider in order to get the most from your free mobile-to-mobile minutes. This applies to all three cellular service types. Check with your friends and family members. Find out who they are using for service. If you are a Cingular customer, you can call other Cingular customers, and GoPhone by Cingular customers free and vice versa by taking advantage of your free mobile-to-mobile calling. Verizon has similar plans with compatible mobile-to-mobile between it’s prepaid and monthly customers. Cingular also offers roll over minutes, so any of your Cingular, or GoPhone anytime minutes you don’t use in any given month, will roll over for use in the following month. So who offers the cheapest cell phone service? I would have to say, even though their bottom line price is a little more than other cell phone service providers, most people are going to save money with the advanced calling features and plans provided by GoPhone for prepaid, or Cingular for monthly, with Verizon running a close second. So the next time you’re searching for the cheapest cell phone service, consider your usage habits, cellular plan types, and friends and family with compatible services. Make sure you consider these factors as a priority above bottom line price. This way you’ll get more for your money and find yourself a winner. Cool, Clear Water

June 19th, 2008 by janetneusy

By Anna Hart Drinking water is essential to humans. Adults lose about 10 glasses of water daily. Some is replenished in the food we eat, and some is replenished in beverages, but most is replenished in the form of drinking water. Some people are claiming that room-temperature drinking water is the only good water. Others claim it should be warm or icy or cold drinking water. Who is right? In Cool Water, song writer Bob Nolan sings: All day I face the barren waste Without the taste of water, Cool water. Old Dan and I, with throats burned dry, And souls that cry for water, Cool, clear, water. Cold Drinking Water Old Dan and his rider were dying for cold drinking water. In fact, a few days without water, and both would literally be dead. More than two thirds of a humans weight is water. The human brain is 95% water and human blood is 82%. Old Dans rider would show signs of dehydration if he lost as little as 2% of his bodys water. His short-term memory would grow fuzzy. He would have trouble focusing on small things and experience daytime fatigue, commonly caused by dehydration. They needed drinking water preferably, cold drinking water. Why Cold Drinking Water? You may have heard that drinking water should be taken warm, even in hot weather. There are benefits, however, to choosing cold drinking water. * It is more refreshing. * It is more easily absorbed into your blood. * It may burn more calories. * It has zero calories, unlike other drinks. Myths about Cold Drinking Water For many years, people have circulated various myths about cold drinking water. These have no scientific basis, but are offered here for your information. * Myth #1: Cold drinking water after meals causes cancer by solidifying ingested fat, slowing digestion, and lining intestine walls with the fat. Actually, body heat cancels out any effects of cold food or water. * Myth #2: Cold drinking water after eating fruit is bad for you. This one, around since at least 1923, is probably based on the truth that too much beverage, at any temperature, may dilute digestive juices. * Myth #3: Cold drinking water harms delicate stomach lining. Currently on the Internet, this has no truth. Stomach lining is extremely robust, as it must be to withstand the highly caustic digestive acids. For years, health experts have recommended that average adults have at least eight glasses of water daily. That amount should be increased if you exercise, if the weather is hot, or when humidity is low. Overweight adults, who require more water, should add an additional glass for every 25 pounds of excess weight in order to speed metabolism. The body needs water, and the most important question for most people is not whether the water should be warm or cold, but whether they are drinking enough. 2007, Anna Hart. ABCs of Creatively Teaching Youth

June 1st, 2008 by janetneusy

By Ken Sapp Youth are mature enough for serious Bible Study. They shouldnt need games and all this creative stuff. Unfortunately this is a common sentiment among teachers of youth and adults. Of course, when they indicate serious Bible Study, what they usually mean is lecture. Yet Jesus, undoubtedly the most serious of ALL teachers, used stories, parables, object lessons, and activities to teach. As for lecture, we only have one long lecture of Jesus recorded in Scripture, the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus involved others in the learning experience, preferring to guide his pupils to discover, understand, and live the truth. Its a sin to for youth to leave Bible Study with the thought that it is boring and meaningless. Listed below are some ideas for preparing Bible Study with youth that is meaningful and exciting. Adapt Choosing Bible Study curriculum is like choosing new clothes. Few have the resources, skill, or the time to tailor their own. But you are not stuck with creating your own or using something that doesnt fit. There is a third option - adjusting it so that it does fit. Bible study materials are often written to fit a wide variety of needs, but with a little planning and a little adapting here and there you can get something that fits. Fit to the Occasion, Size, Practicality We need to be very careful that we are not buying a Ballerina outfit for a Soccer Goalie. One may be elegant and beautiful, but no matter how much adjustment we do, it will never serve our purpose. Different occasions demand different materials. And the boys soccer team may need a little something different from the moms cross-stitch class. One size fits all rarely fits! To be most effective we need to know the sizes (spiritual maturity) of the people for which the material is intended. Finally we need something that is practical for the skill level of the teacher, the time constraints and the resources available. Discover the various interests and needs of your students and their teachers and you will be much more effective outfitting them for life. Find the Main Idea Isolate the main idea of the lesson, and how it should be applied to life. Then put it into one simple statement. Materials will often do this for you and call it the teaching aim or central truth. These are only suggestions and should be rewritten as necessary so that it is meaningful and applicable to YOUR youth in YOUR church. Your objective is not to cover all the material in the Bible passage, forcing your youth to sit still while you instill all the Bible content into them. Rather your goal is to help each to discover the ONE main truth of the passage and apply it to his or her life. Our goal is not Bible Drill Champions, but Biblical Christians. If the youth leave with one truth per week and truly apply it to life, you will have been incredibly used by God and might even create a few Bible Drill Champs in the process! Focus the Lesson Once you have identified the central truth, everything you do during this lesson should focus on this truth, shed light on it, look at it from different angles, help youth discover it, and eventually to see its application. Read the focal passage, the lesson in the student book, the background material, and teaching helps with your specific main idea for your youth in mind. Remember that games and activities for the mere sake of activity are meaningless. But games and activities that help youth to experience the main truth, to draw attention to it, can be the key to making the lesson memorable. They can be a hook, a hanger, on which the student can hang the lesson instead of getting lost in the bottom of the closet of their minds. When choosing activities and teaching steps, always ask the following question: How does this activity or step reinforce the Focus of this lesson? If you have several activities to choose from, identify which would be the best reinforcement and most likely to work with YOUR students. Fun and Variety Use a variety of engaging teaching methods to seize the attention of your students and draw them to the central truth. Different people learn in different ways, have had difference life experiences, have different interests and concepts of fun, different gifts and talents, and have different needs. It is impossible to teach to all these variables at once, but variety allows you to reach more of them. You want to shine a bright light of attention on all the various facets of that diamond of truth you have chosen so that all its sparkle and all its various angles and perspectives are illuminated. You want to make it so attractive to the learners so that they want to interact with it and explore it in all its detail. The worst teaching method is the one that is repeatedly used as it will progressively become more ineffective with each use. Most teaching materials will provide a couple of alternative options for each key teaching point. Identify the key idea or purpose of each activity. They are options and you can pick and choose as you wish. You may even add an option of your own if you can achieve the same result with another activity. Remember EVERYTHING in the materials are SUGGESTIONS! ADAPT! Find Resources If you wish to use alternative ideas you need resources. Why waste your time trying to come up with all your own ideas when there are some great helps already available from which to draw? If the focus of the lesson is for example compassion, then you can often find another lesson on compassion and add or replace activities in your lesson. There are many good books and resources that are just that, sources of teaching ideas for you to adapt as needed! One great resource is www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com. And when your creative juices ARE flowing and you have a creative idea, type it into your computer or jot it down on a notecard and store it in a file for later use. You never know when the same idea could be used again with a different group of youth later. Just categorize them by subjects and key words (i.e. what does this activity teach?) Be student focused We dont teach the Bible, we teach YOUTH. Remember our goal is not Content but Changed lives, not facts, but followers. Our goal is to see youth grow and develop in preparation for a lifelong walk with Christ, to be faithful followers of Jesus. Many people know about God and Christianity without really knowing God and living as Christians. An effective teacher will know the needs, the likes and dislikes, and the learning preferences of youth and be able to integrate these into the lesson so that youth become a part of the lesson and can understand its application to his or her life. As you prepare for your lesson, you should keep in mind the needs, experiences, and personalities of YOUR youth. The key is to guide the lesson with YOUR youth in mind. Connect You need to connect all the parts of the lesson together and most importantly build a connection between the lesson and the students and even between yourself, as the teacher, and the students. Youth dont care what you know until they know that you care. Youth need to know how one activity relates to those that have preceded it. After you have analyzed how each activity or step relates to the main lesson you only need to phrase it in a simple sentence and it serves as a great transition to the next step. You might also let youth know how this lesson connects with previous lessons. Finally youth need to know where the lesson connects with everyday life- (i.e. how does it apply.) They want to know why the lesson is important. If you can Adapt, Be student focused, and Connect everything together, Teaching Creatively is as simple as ABC! For a variety of creative ideas and more information on how to teach creatively visit http://www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Ken has been actively involved in youth ministry for almost 20 years and has been writing youth Bible Study materials since 1988. He has written for numerous Youth weekends and summer camps around the world. Wrongful Death Lawyers

May 26th, 2008 by janetneusy

By M. Williams Wrongful death refers to a lawsuit which alleges that the victim was killed as a consequence of negligence or misdeed of another. Usually, wrongful death occurs as a result of personal injury accidents, medical malpractice, auto accidents, workplace accidents, dangerous or defective products, mesothelioma and other accidents. When the proximate cause of the wrongful death of the decedent roots from reckless, careless or negligent acts of another, his actions are often subject to personal injury and/or wrongful death suits. The loss of a family member causes great pain, turmoil, as well as inconceivable loss of the family. In the stage of grieving, it is hard or impossible to function in everyday life and carry on, let alone think about making a wrongful death claim. This stage leaves the decedents family feeling powerless with so many questions unanswered. When you are ready to receive settlement or filing a wrongful death suit, an experienced wrongful death lawyer can be of great help. Though a wrongful death claim cannot replace your loss but it is as close to justice. If you have lost a loved one due to the negligence of a person or a company, you may have the right to receive compensation from an insurance company or from the person or company responsible for said death. Surviving family members are strongly encouraged to immediately consult with a wrongful death lawyer to safeguard the critical evidence of the fatal accident and to avoid being estopped to institute a claim. The immediate aftermath of a wrongful death is to hire the services of the right lawyer. Hiring an experienced wrongful death lawyer is a critical decision that may significantly affect the lives of the decedents family. Wrongful death lawyers appreciate the complexity in legal issues as well as the powerful emotional trauma absorbed in a wrongful death claim. Experienced wrongful death lawyers will vigilantly represent the rights of the victim while assisting the family members in a dependable and considerate manner by providing information regarding the practical and legal aspects of personal injury law and wrongful death claims including survivor actions, Social Security Disability and Windows Benefits. To be able to show evidences that a wrongful death happened, an investigation in connection with the death shall be conducted. It is necessary that the wrongful death lawyer have the necessary resources to acquire records and reports as well as thorough information for successful case results. Clients should feel confident about their legal action. With the help of a diligent wrongful death lawyer, the process in recovering the reasonable compensation will be smoother. Managing Your Love Life So You - Don’t Stuff it Up

May 17th, 2008 by janetneusy

By Christopher Walker Give me a week, a month or a year, with no distractions, and I’ll give you perfect love. But give me a day, where the phone never stops ringing, where the cash flow is not on target and the new product release is coming too soon, and I’ll give you the average life of a busy person. Ambition wins hands down in business. Ambition in relationships kills everything it stands for. Passion in business is called leadership. Passion in relationships lasts a matter of months. Busy people, all too often apply the secrets to their business survival to their relationship and end up complaining “where has all the love gone?” As the world calls for FASTER. Faster cars, Faster food, Faster Sex, Faster porridge, Faster entertainment, Faster results, Faster Change, Faster families, Faster spirituality (refer The Secret) there is one thing that is going in the opposite direction, resisting the tides of progress, and that is love. Try faster love, try slipping through a few misdemeanours in your relationship, try forgetting the small, humble, irrelevant, trivial detail in love, and you’ll end up in Mexico, Faster Divorces. Love is Sacred. This is not about the amount of time you spend with someone, or in any way a contradiction to your ambitions in financial or career areas of life, in fact it supports them. Keeping love sacred is more about not forgetting what its really all for. Why work, why be wealthy, why become famous if the cost of it all is the loss of love. The first key in this, as I wrote in Sacred Love is, learning to differentiate between love and emotion. That way, you will be able to put your expectations, your ambitions, your judgements, your moods, your disappointments, your hopes, your hard work all in context, without sacrificing the real reason you do all that; love. A few thoughts. 1/ Learn to stop - Stop means do nothing, learn to stop wanting to fix, improve, change, modify, better, help, calm, inspire, give, or anything. Learn to sit with yourself and someone you love and stop. I teach this. The art of doing nothing. I am very good at doing nothing and proud of it. 2/ Learn to think. Most people don’t think. They think that they think. They think they are thinking by chasing and reacting and judging. This is good and that is bad. But this is conditioned thinking like a donkey chasing a carrot stuck on the end of a stick that’s bolted to it’s head. Learn to think. And to do that, you’ll need to get a different perspective. I teach that because I have seen too much suffering come from conditioned, I’m right you’re wrong thinking, which is not thinking at all. That’s monkey mind. 3/ Get content. There’s a gap between what you’ve got and what you want. A big gap if you are anything like me. I grew up ambitious. Self dependent, so the sky is the limit. Sadly, this headspace can cause as huge a disaster as it can cause victory. If you bring this “I wanna” headspace into your relationships, kiss your partner goodbye. I think this skill of contentment with ambition, is the greatest gift we can have. It gives us choices. And isn’t that power? 4/ Love is cumulative. If you think being an arse at work, can be compensated by playing with the children as a good guy, then, welcome to the delusion behind 90% of youth issues in the world. Dualistic parents, acting a lie. Nothing affects the child more than the unlived life of the parent and this is a big problem. A loving person is a loving person whether they are at work or at home or alone. But my experience is that most of the “loving husbands” who come to seminars would jump into bed with a woman at a glance as long as no one knew. So called spirituality to most people means knowing what’s healthy, rather than living it. 5/ Don’t become exclusive. Narrow religious thinking pre supposes that finding someone other than your partner attractive is a corruption. Jealous husbands and wives demand that their partner find only them attractive. This is a bad impression. A loving person is a loving person. The person you find attractive will be attractive to others. The person who is attracted to you will be attracted to others. The question, and where religion gets it right, is what to do about it? Feeling something is great, acting on it is the consciousness of an animal. Goats have sex because they can’t differentiate between attraction and action. So don’t act the goat….. Hope you enjoyed this. Sacred Love the book is really the first insight into relationships written for busy - ambitious people. The book drives to the heart of what makes the difference between sustainable love and short term emotional panic. It separates the Sheep from the Goats, or better put, the LOVERS from GOATEARD. A New Kind of College - The Virtual University

May 14th, 2008 by janetneusy

By Gary Stuart You may debate whether graduating from college actually makes you smarter, but there is no doubt that a college degree can make you richer. According to statistics from the Department of Labor, the lifelong earnings of a person with a bachelor’s degree are $620,000 more than someone with an associate degree; $810,000 more than those of a high school graduate, and $1.1 million more than a high school dropout. Simply put, a college degree makes you more competitive in the job market. In fact, many employers, including the U.S. government, require college degrees for certain positions. You may deserve a promotion based on job skills and experience, but will not be considered for advancement due to a lack of formal education. As our technological society continues to create a demand for individuals with specific skill sets, the earning power of college graduates is expected to keep growing. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for college graduates will increase by 25% between now and 2014. On the other hand, jobs for high school graduates will grow by only 11%. However, many find the cost of tuitions, fees, and living on campus for four years is beyond their financial grasp. Others deal with the day-to-day responsibilities of children and full-time jobs that simply do not afford them the time to work towards earning their college degree. Online universities and colleges are quickly coming to the rescue of people who strive to earn a college degree, but need a flexible schedule and reasonable costs. Over a million people are now enrolled in online colleges. Students are now able to take classes completely online at any hour of the day or night. You can even opt for a combination of online and on-campus. Students chat with other students, work together on projects and confer with professors — completely online. Convenience is virtually at your fingertips! Another positive is the flexible admissions policies. Don’t be surprised if your work or military experience counts towards college credits. In addition, while most traditional colleges require that you enroll after a semester break, the typical online university allows you to start classes any time you want. The flexibility offered by online schools means that students often complete their coursework more quickly than if they were in traditional colleges. For example, many students earn bachelor’s degrees within two years or less. And keep in mind that the majority of online schools offer a variety of programs including certifications, associate degrees, bachelors and even masters and doctoral programs. Certificate programs. Many certificate programs supply training for jobs in call centers or repair shops for cars, televisions, etc. Even if your certification cannot guarantee a job in a particular field, it can help you decide whether or not you enjoy that type of work and are suited for it. Some employers will pay for certifications in order to have an employee’s skills improved in just one small area, such as Six Sigma training for business. Certification programs are not the same as a college degree, but they can often count toward an associate degree. Certificate programs can be as short as one course, while others require several courses and hands-on training. Associate Degrees. Associate degrees are typically awarded within the first year or so of enrolling in a bachelor degree program. Your associate degree may be in an area such as ‘interdisciplinary studies,’ which means you have completed coursework in English, Math, Science and other subjects required for your bachelor’s degree. On the other hand, some online colleges offer associate degrees in medical billing and coding, paralegal studies, architectural drafting, computer animation, digital photography fields, etc. When you consider that high school graduates earn an average of $24,000 annually, and a Medical Coder averages $35,000 a year, the value of an associate degree (that you can earn in eight short months) becomes very clear! Likewise an associate degree in computer networking can open the door for a ‘$40,000 a year’ career. Bachelor Degrees. Online schools offer bachelor’s degrees in every field you can imagine. Even for those in a discipline, such as nursing or teaching, which requires a period of apprenticeship, you can complete your coursework online and schedule your hospital or student teaching through your online college. Many people complete online bachelor’s degrees within a year or two, especially if they already have some transferable college credits Master Degree Programs. The most popular program offered online is the Master of Business Administration (MBA). Today’s online universities offer many MBA majors including Healthcare, Non-Profit Organizations or Hotel Administration as well as traditional courses: Accounting, Finance and Management. Another popular major is education. Teachers improve their credentials and receive higher salaries by earning master’s degrees in Early Childhood, Curriculum Specialist, Secondary Education, etc. Online universities emphasize degrees in practical fields, such as technology, journalism, business and education that improve your job credentials. However, a few online schools have associate, bachelor and master’s degrees in liberal arts subjects, including philosophy, history, literature and art. Doctoral Programs. Most online universities do not offer doctoral programs, but a few have made PhD programs available. These programs are primarily in education and business. Programs can last as long as three years and require some residency time on campus. If you carry a full load at an online college and qualify as a full-time student, you can apply for traditional financial aid as long as your online college is a Title IV participant. Military services and employers often help pay for online degrees. The cost of online degree programs is almost always less than half of what you pay for a campus program. The next step. . . .choosing the right school for you! Gary Stuart is an enthusiastic advocate of higher education. Power and the Doctor

May 9th, 2008 by janetneusy

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Tate] Peter Tate Patients expect and often want powerful doctors; that is a doctor who has reassuring authority, who is apparently capable and whose pronouncements can reduce anxiety. One definition of medical or ‘Aesculapean’ authority divides it into three parts: Sapiential, Moral and Charismatic. These words are somewhat off putting at first meeting but bear with me. Sapiential authority This can be defined as the right to be heard based on knowledge or expertise, and means doctors must know or at least appear to know more about medicine than their patients. This can only be one part of the doctor’s authority, however, as a biochemist may know more about a particular branch of medicine, but it is to a physician that a patient turns when in need. Moral authority This is the right to significantly control and direct patients, based on doing what society expects of them as doctors. To keep their moral authority, doctors must always act with the good of the patient as their paramount concern. This is derived from the Hippocratic credo. In addition, societies generally revere doctors, meaning that their behaviour is seen as socially right as well as individually good. This is a powerful combination. Charismatic authority This is the most difficult of the three concepts, and is similar to the anthropological definition of magic. It stems from the original unity between medicine and religion. In Western culture it related to the possibility of death, and the magnitude of the issues with which the doctor deals. Many of us want doctors to be a little magical. It is true too that for many of us there is a need to supplement sapiential and moral authority with an ineffable factor, which might just hold out hope against the odds. Many doctors go out of their way to cultivate this. They develop a priestly mien, use complicated and obscure rituals, and act more like bishops than physicians. The three forms of authority are present in all doctors: though some doctors go out of their way to develop particular sapiential, moral and charismatic elements in their behaviour with patients and others. Think about some of the powerful doctors you have met and the nature of their power. Here is an example. A partially patient centred doctor has the same moral authority as her doctor centred colleague, but she may reduce some of her sapiential authority by sharing more information with her patients. This highlights a fundamental truth: Controlling information by the doctor increases their power and restricts our involvement in decisions about our health. Many doctors become very uneasy with knowledgeable inquisitive patients; such patients lessen the doctor’s control. The partially patient centred doctor will also be more likely to attempt to demystify the nature of medical diagnosis and treatment, reducing her charismatic authority and so her power to control the interview. This requires a degree of bravery in the doctor particularly when first trying such strategies. Most doctors, and perhaps especially when training, are afraid of losing control, of exposing too much of their patient’s pain and fear. They find themselves not asking the important question in case of opening an emotional Pandora’s Box and being overwhelmed. They use their power over their patient to keep the box shut and emotions at a non-threatening level. This style of behaviour can then become fixed and persist throughout a doctors career. Doctors can increase their charismatic power, should they wish, in many ways. The trappings of power are the most obvious, white coats, impressive mysterious gadgetry, attached (subservient) staff, large desks with the big chair firmly behind it. They surround themselves with grandiose looking certificates on the wall, and have computers with unintelligible displays or pointing away from us patients. They can communicate by cryptic oracle like pronouncements, shrouded in medico speak. This can then be wrapped up with dire warnings of the fearsome effects of not following the treatment properly, in order to complete the effect. Powerful rituals such as examining and prescribing are more charismatic in the absence of adequate explanations. The problem with these contrived exercises of medical authority is that the overwhelming evidence suggests they are not very effective. It quite obviously does not increase our understanding because that is not what is motivating the doctor. Doctors usually say that the reason for this style of communication is that it will make patients do what is good for them. However the sad fact seems to be that more often than not we don’t. The literature on compliance or what is now more hopefully called concordance with medical advice reflects rather badly on doctors, and us patients too if you think about it. Of course we are all just human beings, patients and surprising as it may seem, doctors too. Peter Tate qualified as a doctor at Newcastle in 1968.
